Psalm 118:25
O LORD, do save, we beseech You; O LORD, we beseech You, do send prosperity!
My first thoughts of hearing "do save" make me think of salvation. But the psalmist has been saved and needs to be saved of something else. When he says "do send prosperity", he is wanting more out of his life. Prosperity: a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition, esp. in financial respects; good fortune. So even back then people struggled with many of the same things that we do. They didn't have the huge financial debts that are easy for all us to accumulate, but they did struggle. So today, I will claim to the verse that the Psalmist prayed and believe that God does want more for me, He is the only one that can make it happen. First of all we must not be stupid and realize that the messes were made by us. Ask God to forgive you for not being responsible with what He has blessed you with, and know that with Him - all things work for good. His blessings will come.
