Proverbs 16:13
Righteous lips are the delight of kings, And he who speaks right is loved.
Think about it, when you are a person that is known for telling the truth, you are trusted! It use to be that when you gave your word, that it was it, you could be trusted and whoever you gave your word to, believed you, they knew that what you said was right. In today's society, we don't have that anymore. We have to do contracts, making sure we will do what we say we will do. Again, the Bible tells us just how easy it will be for us, if we just do and say what is right. Life would be so much easier!

Jeremiah 3:14
'Return, O faithless sons,' declares the LORD;'For I am a master to you, And I will take you one from a city and two from a family, And I will bring you to Zion.'
What we always need to remember, is that no matter how far we walk away from God, He is always there waiting for us! He will restore us, but we must be willing to make that choice to turn back to Him. May I encourage you not to walk back but RUN! Run back to Him and be restored! We all have things in our lives that do take us away from Him, but we have to remember, we made the choice to let them come between us and Him. It's time to get back to Him, spend time with Him.. do you see that I am talking directly to me! I have so many times in the past two months put everything in front of Him. I forgot that I truly need that time with Him. My days go by horribly when I don't spend time with Him first to get it all started. I know that He wants to bless me, but I still need to ask Him to be with me, I don't need to just assume that He is here. I know that He is, but I also know that He wants to be acknowledged! So God, I know that there is nothing going to happen today that You and I can't handle together! Use me today Lord!!! Show me your ways, and Lord do the same for my friends!

Matthew 3:2
"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
I guess what sticks out most in this verse to me is "the kingdom of heaven is at hand". Do we really think of it as being right here and now? We should live each day as if God was really here with us - right here - right now. I think we have that tendancy to put it all off, think about His return as being later, not today, tomorrow, this week or this month. But in all reality we should remember that even thought Jesus is not here where we can see Him physically, He is really here with us at all times. We should not wait to say we are sorry for doing things that are wrong. We should not wait for us to get caught when doing wrong, we should own up to our sinful ways. God already knows what we are doing! Are you really sorry for the ways your are acting, or do you have the attitude of "I can do it later?" What if you later doesn't come. We are not promised tomorrow. Jesus may not come back today, but your life could end today. As a believer you will not go to hell for that sin, but clear it all up with God, so He doesn't have to bring it up! Live each day being refreshed and renewed with a clear conscience so that your can really enjoy all that God has in store for you!

Exodus 20:8 NAS
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
I grew up attending church occasionally. Even then I was taught that Sunday was the Lord's day. Even if I did not go to church, we somehow respected the hour up until 12:00 (when church let out). I would not wash the car, we wouldn't go to the pool until church at least till church let out. I remember the good times when businesses were closed on Sunday and even most shut down at lunch on Wednesday afternoons, to allow people to get ready for church. Today do we really teach out kids about how important the sabbath day is? Do they think that it's just to go to church on Sunday or do we let them know that this is the day that we get to spend time with God? It's time to worship Him, thank Him for what He has done for Him, learn more about Him! Remember what this day was made for - The Lord!

Psalm 37:7
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
Sometimes this is just hard to do. We see the world around us, people that are even close to us, seeing great things happening to them, and what do we do? We sit and wonder why it's not happening to us. What we really need to do is have reality check. Realize where we are (has God not blessed us?) relize what we have (again more of God's blessings) and realize where we have been (hasn't God always gotten us through?) and realize just how blessed we are! God has always been and always will be faithful. So times may not be perfect right now, but we must remember to Trust HIM! He has great plans for us, He wants to propser us and not harm us. So be patient as the Bible say, Wait on God! Resting means climbing up in his lap, laying your head on His shoulder, and just spend time with Him!

Romans 12:15
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
Don't just sit back in your little box and examine what it going on around you, be a part of life. When you realize that something good is going on in another's life, be happy for them! So your world may not be perfect right now, but either it has been or it will be. You can be happy for other people. You don't have to carry your little rain cloud around all the time. Maybe it's time to let some SONshine into your life. Let Jesus help you, so that you can be happy for others and maybe when you see them weeping, you can be there for them too. Let them know that you do care. It could be that they feel they are so alone and that nobody really cares for them. Ask God what can He do with you today. Look around, you will find somebody with rejoicing or weeping. Be there for them! You will need somebody there for you in the near future when you are either rejoicing or weeping.

Rejoice always.
1 Thes. 5:16
Rejoice - to feel joyful, be delighted
Always - At all times, invariably
Okay it's that simple. At all times be delighted. Well it's not really that simple we know, but when you get down, remember God wants you to rejoice always. The best way to do it is to draw near to Him. When you're focus is on God, the negative stuff can't stay in His presence. So sing a song, put that joy in your heart and get rid of the negative that is trying to overtake your day. Sing the song - Rejoice in the Lord always - and see what happens. You can't help but get a smile on your face!

Remember the Covenant with David, and Sorrow for Lost Blessings (A contemplation of Ethan the Ezrahite) I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 89:1
How many times have we heard that song? Do we think about it and why it was written? Think back to David, how he was so blessed by God, yet he stumbles and sinned against God. The great story is how he came back to God and was restored. He loved God and after it was ll over he did what he should - Praised God, just as we should. Not only should we be praising the Lord all the time, we should constatnly remind our children of how great God is! Let them know exactly what He has brought us through and when He blesses us with grandchildren, make sure they know how great God is too!

Psalm 32:11
Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart.
Even though today may be dreary outside, we can make something good out of it. Rejoice - Sing to the Lord - Praise Him. Maybe some of the first words you heard today were negative, choose not to let that get you down. This is the day that the Lord has made - I (you) will rejoice and be glad in it. You have a choice today, do you want to be gloomy or a ray of sunshine in a gloomy day? Put a song in your heart and don't be afraid to share it with the world today.

Isaiah 46:9
Remember the former things of old, For I am God and there is no other, I am God, and there is none like Me.
Well my former things were definatley not godly. I am thankful that God allowed me to live and then give my life to Him. Because of all I went through I now understand how Great He is. We must remember that He is God - there is none like Him! He wants our focus to be on Him, trust Him, seek Him, talk and walk with Him. It's easy to set Him aside, but it's time to fall back in love with Him again. Remember Who He is! Let Him be in your life Who He was meant to be - Lord of All!

Proverbs 4:8
Prize her, and she will exalt you; She will honor you if you embrace her.
I can't help but think about the book Love & Respect that I have been going through. Reflections from the book are seen in this verse. It's an instruction to the man. I think it is shared in the Bible because this is a a valid point on how a woman truly feels. That's the one thing that we want more than anything, to be valued, to be loved! And to go even farther, that is all God wants from all of us! When we do the same to Him, just think the how blessed we will be. There are so many insights in the Bible, if we are just willing to search them out and apply them to our lives. We are the ones to benefit if we just apply them!

Preserve me, O God, for I take refuge in You.
Psalm 16:1
There are so many meanings of preserve: To keep alive, protect or spare, to keep up; maintain, to keep possession of, to prepare. These can all apply to when call out to God for Him to preserve us. We all have a time in our lives that each meaning can apply more that one of the others. Yes we need to call out to Him and we really need to take hold of the last part of the verse - "I take refuge in You". When we call out to God we must remember to run to Him for that shelter of protection that we are asking for. So many times we stand there and call out but then that is it, we don't move towards Him so that He can do just what we have ask Him to. We must learn to trust and run to Him, curl up under His shelter and relax and know that we can be safe from the storm.
