Deuteronomy 6:2
so that you and your son and your grandson might fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.
This is another verse that may often get overlooked, but it's one that we really need to think about. We do want to know that our son and our grandsons might fear the Lord, but who are we expecting to teach them? It is our responsibility as parents to teach our children about the Lord. And when they have children we are not to stop there, we are to also share with our grandchildren. I think of my husbands mother, she always shared with my children. She knew that Chris and I were sharing, but she also knew it was what God wanted her to do. It's not hard what God wants us to do, but doing it just seems to be our problem. Not only should we be telling our kids what to do, we should also be doing what God has called us to do. The loudest way we speak is in how we act.
